Three words that describe you
Dreamer, Optimistic, Joyful

Your favourite thing to treat, and how or what you use to treat it
Forever and always, my heart will be in fertility and birth prep. Holding women as they prepare their body and mind to carry and birth their baby is a privilege I cherish! I get to remind them, and witness, that everything they need is already inside them, and often it doesn’t even involve acupuncture needles 🙂

Your go-to self-care tip you love sharing with clients
Stop outsourcing your health. Your body is a natural healer, yet so often we look outside of ourselves for the answers we already know. Trust yourself, tune in, and remember your power. Then put on ‘Get Low’ by Lil Jon and DANCE, because healing doesn’t have to be heavy!

Lately it has been supporting men. I feel like they want to contribute SO much, but no one is supporting them in HOW to. They’re such a missing link in the conception game. I also believe your intuition should be included in your investigation and your treatment plan.

True wellness and healing is a process that must involve all parts of the person—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It also takes a deep trust in the innate intelligence of the human body to heal, supported by habits that nourish from the inside out while removing what is harmful.

Calista Powell - Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

Three words that describe you
Passionate, Driven, Loving

Your favourite thing to treat, and how or what you use to treat it
My favourite thing to treat is chronic pelvic pain. This can include endometriosis/adenomyosis, sexual pain, pain in the abdomen or pelvis, and pain with urination or bowel movements. I like to take a holistic and client-centered approach to treatment, not only addressing the local tissues but how our body processes and responds to pain. I focus on listening to a patient’s concerns and experiences, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and validated.

Your favourite sweet treat
Cinnamon bun with cream cheese icing

Your go-to self-care tip you love sharing with clients
When you have time for self-care—whether a workout, walk, TV, reading, or a nap—check in with yourself first. If you don’t feel excited or get an immediate “yes,” then find what you are feeling yes for. Too often we force what we think will help, when really we needed rest. (P.S. I really love naps.)

Moms & babies! and since that is the name of my game, I feel very very lucky! Each mom and baby pair is different and complex in their own ways and that keeps things exciting.
